Today I thought I would share this video with you all called The Story of Stuff. The video and the book really opened my eyes over a year ago to seeing how unnecessary so many of my purchases were and that I was buying so much stuff that I didn’t even need but was brainwashed into thinking I did by the media and advertising. Today, we always buy second hand first and if we are buying anything new we make a point to ask ourselves if it is a real need. If it isn’t, we don’t buy it.
We have to start thinking about what impact our constant consumption is having on our beautiful planet. I don’t know about you but I want my children (and theirs) to have a clean and healthy one! 🙂
I love how you reuse! What a great motto for life!

Perhaps you’ve heard it before, but I thought of you when I heard this quote recently: “Use it up, wear it out. Make it do, or do without.” We certainly live in a “disposable society” these days. I won’t profess to be as conscientious as I might be, but I don’t like waste of any kind.

It’s a good series. Have you watched the others?… I first saw it about a year ago, and it was a real eye opener for me too. We weren’t big consumers before, but it reinforced our values… I wonder if our planet really has a chance of ever healing, when the people at the top are bent on gobbling up resources and manipulating the rest of us into participation.

Yes! They are all great! I wonder the same thing, but still I know I have to do my part and feel a lot better when I do!
