I found this song the other day on youtube that I really love. I love Jason Mraz and when I found this song by him, it made me very happy. The song has so many messages in it that really touched me and really helped me feel at peace. I find that uplifting music is always a great way for me to feel more relaxed and realize that other people feel or think the same things. I enjoy listening to songs or artists that express deep inner thoughts and share a part of their spiritual journey, (something that a lot of people don’t really want to talk about or acknowledge) because that is where my head is at 99, if not 100 percent of the time.

This song especially touches on fear of not being one with God. There is a part of the song too about our children and how we can’t raise our children perfectly or have them turn out the way we want to because they are their own unique selves and have their own journey to experience. It really helped me in acknowledging that much of my perfectionism and why I have to always try and do everything is still a fear of not being lovable or fearing not being close to God. That somehow I always have to do something to earn that. I don’t know if anyone out there can relate, but I thought that this song has a powerful message that someone might also need to hear today.

To me the song is about not having to be afraid of losing God or love because we are all already “in the heart of God.” We were born of God and of spirit and there is nothing that we could ever do that will take that away from us. We don’t have to strive to get any closer or fear that we might lose our spirituality. God is not somewhere out there, something we have to search for or earn the love and approval of, but God is every breath we breathe and every moment we experience in life. It reminds me also of a quote, “Like air to the bird, like water to the fish, so is being to the human.” We are so much apart of God that we don’t even know it. Why should we fear or ever have to feel anything but total trust and peace?
