Today Autumn is officially 9 years old!

There has been much anticipation for this day. All week leading up to her birthday the girls were writing out invitations, making decorations and counting down the days.

I love how on the invitation she is sure to kindly remind me to bring a gift. 🙂

The decorations that they made were of Autumn. They drew pictures of her and hung them up on the wall. They also made their own rainbow stremers and hung them by the windows.

I decided to do a rainbow fondant cake for Autumn since we are all about rainbows around here.

We added some marshmallows for clouds at the end of the rainbow.

The actual cake is a carrot cake with cinnamon spice frosting, made with whole wheat flour and pure maple syrup.

It tastes so yummy and is very beautiful too!

For her gifts I bought her some Strawberry Shortcake dolls off of ebay that you can’t find in stores anymore (it took some searching to find the ones that I wanted to get her), some books and a willow tree figurine that is a dancer, just like Autumn.

We had a nice mini celebration this afternoon which included her best friend coming over after school for cake.

It was a great day!
