Sunshine, Easter Crafts and Rainbows!

The final traces of Winter are nearly gone and it looks as though Spring is finally here! Bring on the sunshine!

The girls and I have enjoyed spending as much time as we can outside and we have all been going out for walks again as often as we can. It felt like that winter was going to last forever, so I personally vow to enjoy every bit of sunshine and nice weather the Spring, Summer and Fall will bring. 🙂

With Spring in the air and Easter around the corner we have also been busy making all kinds of Spring and Easter crafts. Bring on the paint!

They are all about rainbows these days!

Here are some of the crafts that we have made so far.

Egg Carton Chicks

Obviously not a vegan craft supply, I picked up some egg cartons from my parents and the girls were excited to get creative with them. If you are vegan, I am sure you know someone who isn’t. Ask them if they can save you some egg cartons and get busy making these simple cute crafts.

For this craft you will need

  • 1 egg carton
  • scissors
  • yellow paint
  • paintbrushes
  • jiggly eyes
  • orange foam or constructions paper (for beaks)
  • glue

* Apply yellow feathers to these little chickies to make them even more adorable.

Directions

Cut out as many egg cups from the egg carton as you like (these are your chicks). Paint the chicks yellow. Allow to dry completely. Meanwhile, cut out triangular beaks from the orange foam or construction paper. Once the chicks are dry, apply the jiggly eyes and orange beaks with some glue. Allow to dry again and display on your window sill.

These guys look so cute when I am washing the dishes.

Egg Carton Spring Flowers

For this craft you will need

  • 1 egg carton
  • scissors
  • paint (colors of your choice)
  • paintbrushes
  • green pipe cleaners (for stems)
  • a mason jar or vase
  • ribbon (optional)

Directions

Cut out as many of the egg cups from the egg carton as you would like. Cut around the edge of the egg cup to create flower petals. Paint the flowers and allow them to dry completely. Once the flowers are dry, poke a hole in the bottom of the egg cup (flower) and place a green pipe cleaner in the center. Fold the pipe cleaner over so it won’t fall out. Arrange your Spring bouquet in a decorated mason jar or vase.

That is what we have been up to so far. Try these crafts out with your little ones. It is sure to brighten up your home and it is so nice having all of these cute and colorful crafts around the house.
