Apple Peanut Butter Sandwiches

The girls have been obsessed with eating apples these days (even more so than usual) since I have been cutting them and coring them with different shaped cookie cutters.

Apples are so much more delicious when they have a heart or star shape in them! Or so I’ve been told.

Since valentines day is approaching I thought that I would share this idea with you so that you can make this cute little snack for your kids too. Coring the apples with a heart shaped cookie cutter is an easy valentines snack that kids are sure to love!

You can even transform these cute little apple slices into apple peanut butter sandwiches!

Apple Peanut Butter Sandwiches

Makes two little sandwiches

  • 1 medium apple
  • 1-2 tablespoons natural peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon raisins

Directions

Cut the apple width-wise into five 1/2 inch slices. One slice will just be the bottom of the apple and won’t be used for a sandwich.

Take a small heart (or other) shaped cookie cutter and cut out the core of each apple slice.

Spread some peanut butter on two of the larger slices, then sprinkle the raisins on top of the peanut butter.

Top with the plain apple slices to make two apple sandwiches.

I also want to bake something for valentines yet too, but I just can’t think of what.

Perhaps if I wear Autumn’s thinking cap for a while it will come to me.

I made the thinking cap for her one day when she was getting frustrated while doing her math and said “I just need to put my thinking cap on!” Really Autumn, you shouldn’t say such things around your crazy mother.
