I’m 31 weeks pregnant now and wanted to post a little update and photos.
I’ve been feeling really good in my body and have been going for a walk every morning. Things are getting a bit more uncomfortable and heavy in there, but I find that keeping active relieves a lot of aches and pains.
Since having the cold I have felt less energetic, but still, I think I am beginning a bit of nesting, cleaning out the fridge and basement, organizing and always keeping on top of regular household chores as well. I still have the baby clothes and blankets to wash, but I am waiting on that until it is actually closer to the day.
I’m pretty sure baby is transverse (laying sideways) from what I can feel. It is such a different feeling from my other pregnancies, but at least I am not feeling too much pressure in my pelvis yet. I am hoping that he turns soon and is all ready for delivery so I don’t have to worry about having to have a c-section.
Baby enjoys oatmeal a lot these days with strawberries and apples and maple syrup. I am also making a lot of soup again to get down lots of veggies and having that with sandwiches. I still have to be careful what I eat because of heartburn and indigestion, so I am trying to choose more plain foods. Everything is quite squished in there!
This Thursday we get the tour of the birth center where I will be delivering. It should be nice and peaceful there as the midwives don’t take many patients a month. There is one patient per month, per midwife. I am really enjoying having a midwife this time around because she actually takes the time to get to know me and will actually be the one who delivers my baby. With every doctor I have had with my previous pregnancies, my appointments were always rushed and the doctor that took care of me prenatally was never there at the actual birth. That always felt so awkward to me to have a stranger come in and deliver my babies.
With the midwife you have so many options too about who you want to deliver your baby, it could be Craig, or I could grab him and anyone is allowed in the birthing room with you. You can also labor how you want to and don’t have to be stuck to the bed, which I am looking forward to. Our plan is just Craig and I and I know that I want to labor in the birth tub.
So many things to start thinking about now that it’s actually getting closer.
