Tea Time

You’re invited to a tea party!

Among her many talents, little miss Kesara is also the greatest tea party hostess around.

She’ll make you sit at her little table in her little chairs and pour your tea, as carefully as she can, being sure not to spill it all over the place. 😉

She is sure to entertain and will serenade you with her sweet singing voice.

And she’ll serve you the finest plastic dainties.

But let’s face it, sometimes plastic dainties (no matter how pretty they may look) just won’t do.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Makes 2 dozen cookies

  • 2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup cane sugar
  • 1.5 flax eggs (1.5 tablespoons ground flaxseed + 4 tablespoons of water)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 cups non-dairy chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 325F. In a large bowl, combine the margarine, brown sugar, cane sugar, flax eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well incorporated. Add in the chocolate chips. Drop the cookie dough by teaspoon sized balls onto an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 12-14 minutes, until slightly golden. Allow to cool completely before removing from the pan.

That’s better!
