Maple Sweetened Lemonade

Today we made lemonade!

Lemonade is something that I have been wanting to make for a long time now. Today was a perfect day for it because it was nice and hot, so we went to town and bought us some lemons!

I know nothing about making lemonade, so it was an adventure I’ll tell you. I juiced up six lemons and started out with 1/2 cup of syrup and 4 cups of water. It was sour. It was sour with four cups more water and even more syrup. It was sour with another two cups water and more syrup and finally after 1 cup more water and another 1/2 cup of syrup is was perfect. Here is the recipe, in half so that you don’t have enough lemonade to last you the rest of the year like I do!

Maple Sweetened Lemonade

A perfect drink on a hot day! This lemonade is sweetened naturally with pure maple syrup.

Makes 6 3/4 cups

Ingredients

  • juice of 3 lemons (1/2 cup lemon juice)
  • 5 1/2 cups cold water
  • 3/4 cup pure maple syrup

Directions

Juice the 3 lemons to make 1/2 cup of lemon juice.

Pour the lemon juice into a pitcher or mason jar. Add the water and maple syrup and stir to combine. Chill in the fridge for a nice cold glass of lemonade!

While we were making the lemonade, Kesa had to try a lemon.

The look on her face was so priceless! I am glad I got a picture.

She also got creative and made a lemon tower.

Serafina played in her box.

I had the idea of bringing a box up from the basement for her because she is so clingy and whiny that I can never get anything done. Nothing makes her happy and if anything does, it doesn’t last for long. Kids love boxes! I am glad that I thought of this and hopefully it will give me a minute to do something during the day.

Tonight we are hoping to get to the beach since Daddy is home. Have a good night!

I Would Love To Hear From You!
