What would life be without music? I hate to think of it actually. We seem to always have music playing around here. I love uplifting, inspiring music and songs with good lyrics and messages. I especially love when those messages are channeled through amazingly gifted musicians!
If you’ve read my blog for a while, you probably already know that I love Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Coldplay, Ben Howard and Ben Harper. I never really get sick of them ever. I noticed that I’ve always enjoy male singers more than female singers. For some reason I just find female singers to be annoying to listen to for more than a few songs. A lot of the female music is also very tied to emotions too, so maybe that is why. I don’t really care to get caught up in that realm. I always have my head in the clouds and am most of the time thinking and contemplating deeper things, so I gravitate towards songs with deeper messages. It’s as though they speak a message that totally resonates with me.
I’ve never really been a typical girl or a typical woman. I never really did too many girly things and even nowadays I prefer to just be comfortable than to put on a bunch of make-up, dress up and worry what people think of me. Just kicking back in my yoga pants with my hair pulled back, listening to my favorite artists as I clean, sew, relax or do yoga is enough to make my day.
Here are some songs that I have been loving these days.
John Mayer – Stop This Train
Coldplay – Everything’s Not Lost
Ben Harper – She’s Only Happy In The Sun
Jason Mraz – The World As I See It/93 Million Miles/I Won’t Give Up Live
Hootie and The Blowfish – Hold My Hand
Eddie Vedder – Hard Sun
Coldplay – The Scientist
John Mayer – Gravity (one of my all time favorite songs)
What have you been enjoying listening to these days? What musicians do you love? If I don’t find more good music, then I might just be one of those old people who are still stuck loving music from way back when and will be quite an embarrassment to my kids. I know that a lot of these songs are pretty old already, but they are still my favorites.
Share your love of good music below! 🙂
