I read this quote this morning,
“A successful life is one that is lived through understanding and pursuing one’s own path, not chasing after the dreams of others. – Chin-Ning Chu
I thought that this goes perfectly with what I was planning on writing about today. Focusing on what you want for your life.
About a week ago I created a vision board, something that I had wanted to do for a long time now. A vision board is a collection of quotes, pictures and other things that you love or desire posted together to create a collage.
I looked up ideas online and then I thought to myself, what am I doing? I can’t take anyone else’s ideas and desires, I am me. Then I just had to ask myself, what do I want for my life? What makes me happy and what do I love?
This was born
When I created my board, I didn’t use magazine pictures of celebrities or post pictures of possessions I would like to have. I decided to desire what I know really means something to me and what is attainable. I posted photographs of the girls, Craig and I, my scenic photography from when we go for our walks and quotes to inspire me. I wanted my board to depict beauty, joy, love and inspiration and I wanted the message to be that I already have it. Those little girls, my beyond amazing husband and this beautiful nature to enjoy any day. I realized that I already have everything that I desire, this vision board will just remind me of that. That I don’t need anything else or to be anybody else, but myself.

I really like the idea of having a vision board because it helps me to remember what makes me happy. I put it in our bedroom, but I think I will make another one for downstairs.
I especially like the quote I posted on here. “Stop sitting there with your hands folded looking on doing nothing, get into action and live this full and glorious life. Now. You have to do it.”
What is it that makes you happy? What are your favorite quotes? 🙂
