I am thankful
for my adversity
and every trial

For they have taught me inner strength

I am thankful
for every judgement passed upon me,
every trespass on my soul

For they have refined me

I am thankful
for my fears
and disbelief

For they have beckoned me toward the light of hope

I am thankful
for the darkness

For without it I could never know the light

I am thankful
for doubt and uncertainty

For they give me the ability to surrender to miraculous outcomes

I am thankful
for loneliness

For in my loneliness I find my soul

I am thankful
for all rejection,
every time I’ve been told
it’s not possible

For I have learned unwavering faith,
to climb mountains I never thought I could;
and with this faith, to face and overcome the impossible
