Here is a short list of things that I love and make me happy that I thought you might enjoy.
1. E-mails from The Daily Love
These daily e-mails always perk me up in the morning, with inspirational quotes and sayings. You can subscribe to The Daily Love e-mails by clicking the link.
2. Kale Chips
- 1 bunch of kale
- 1 tablespoon sunflower oil
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon fine sea salt
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- Cut away the stems of the kale and tear the kale leaves into bite sized pieces.
- Place in a bowl, with the oil, apple cider vinegar and sea salt.
- Toss to coat.
- Place on baking sheet and bake 8-10 minutes.
Kale is a health enthusiasts dream food because it is one of the best sources of beta-carotene believed to be one of the major players in protecting against cancer, heart disease and age related chronic conditions. The phytonutrients in kale signal our genes to increase production of enzymes involved in detoxification. It helps strengthen our immune system as well as our bones, maintains healthy nerves and promotes optimal function of your thyroid.

4. My new Clean Food cookbook by Terry Walters.
This is the best recipe book I have got my hands on so far and believe me I have a lot. She uses all natural ingredients (no sugar or white flour etc) includes macrobiotic and raw food recipes, promotes eating organic, local foods and best of all the recipes are sectioned off into seasonal categories. So, you also save money and help the environment by purchasing and preparing foods that are in season. Such a clever idea! Love, Love, Love this!
5. Organic Planet Worker Co-Op
We love this place. It is where we shop for our groceries. Everything is organic (hence the name Organic Planet) and the produce is local whenever possible. They even do grocery delivery by bike. Oh, and the food they make there is beyond amazing and mostly vegan. Wednesdays are also designated gluten-free. Check this place out.
Yoga always helps me to find myself again and is a great time to let everything go. I currently practice Power Yoga by Rodney Yee and Jivamukti Yoga with Sharon Gannon and David Life.
7. Jack Johnson
I always loved Jack Johnson’s music, but I now love him even more since I learned that 100% of his 2008 tour profits were used to establish the Johnson Ohana Charitable Foundation and that he will once again donate 100% of his 2010 tour profits to charity.
He also greens his whole tour, by eating only local food on tour, eliminates the use of plastic water bottles (choosing tap water instead), produces Eco-friendly concert merchandise and offsets CO2 emissions to support a variety of carbon management projects.
He is great!
I am sure you knew that already. Running always gives me a positive outlook on life. As much as I dread the thought of getting out there, once I start it always works its magic on me. It makes me a better person for sure.
9. My Hubby
What can I say? Always forgiving, patient, fun, loving and kind. My love.
10. My Girls
My girls definitely make my day, everyday. Offering me countless opportunities to practice patience, understanding and love. They always infuse my life with laughter and joy and give me a deep sense of appreciation for life.
Well there is my short list. Of course there are many more things I love, many of which are not things at all.
