I Love My Job!

This morning I woke up to Kesara’s Upsy Daisy doll singing and making those strange noises that she makes. What is with all the weird programming for preschoolers these days? Although we do not actually have T.V, occasionally a new toy will make its way into our house, as a gift and the girls get to watch some programs at their grandparents place when we visit. I really don’t think that they are missing all that much. I wonder what these shows are even teaching kids, other than how to sit for hours with your mouth hanging open and going long periods without ever blinking.

After my awakening, it was time for the great recurring battle, trying to get pants of any kind on Kesara! This happens every single day, many times a day. All she wants to wear are dresses. That, or go completely naked. (Note: she is also not potty trained yet.)

Actually, wearing the dresses is a huge step forward for her. In August we finally got her to stop wearing a heavy jacket everywhere we went and ditch the mitts. In July, I got her to switch her winter hat for a summer one. Now she only wants a summer hat. She is not jiving with the seasons that girl.

I gave her the choice of pants or leggings to wear with her dress. She kicked her legs and said “I don’t want to!” Leggings it was.

We headed downstairs and I prepared the girls an amazing breakfast of toast with margarine and maple syrup (could you tell we woke up late?)

It made them happy. ๐Ÿ™‚

After breakfast was done,ย  I discovered this.

and this.

She showed me!

With much of a fuss, I got them back on. Score one momma.

Then it was a quick run over to the school. On the way, Kesa sang Autumn’s latest hit, “Leaves Are Falling.” It goes like this, “leaves are falling, leaves are falling, to the ground, to the ground,” repeated over and over, until your mother tells you in the most polite way that she can “OK, that’s enough.”

When we got in, the leggings were off in under 2 minutes.

That may be a new record!

Score one for Kesa.

(yes, she colors on her legs and feet)

I had my breakfast of Green “Eggs” On Toast, with cucumber. I am making up for yesterday’s meals of mixed berry tart and chocolate muffins.

Green “Eggs” On Toast

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/4 tsp fine sea salt
  • 2 slices whole grain bread
  • sliced cucumber (optional)

Directions

Cut the avocado in half

Scoop out the insides into a bowl and mash with sea salt.

Serve on toasted whole grain bread with cucumber slices or as is.

Also there are some bananas begging to be made into banana bread or muffins. I will surprise you. ๐Ÿ˜‰

For someone who is unemployed, I have the two toughest bosses around and a lot of work to do. A brief description of my job would look like this: cook, clean, teach, play, coach, referee and it doesn’t even pay well.

Well, sometimes it does.

I love my job! ๐Ÿ™‚
