34 Lessons I Learned From Life

  1. I am the only one responsible for my life. I can chose how I want to live.
  2. It is impossible to hold two thoughts at once. The mind cannot hold a positive thought and a negative one at the same time.
  3. I can chose what thoughts I want in my mind. Our thoughts are just made up of our external environment. When I take the time to unplug from the world, I am able to be mindful of my thoughts and I can find my true-self again.
  4. Yoga is magic. It always makes me feel good, every single time.
  5. When I allow myself to be loved and fill up on self-love, I am better able to love others. You can not give away something you do not have.
  6. Food tastes best when I’m hungry. If I keep eating to find that good feeling I get from the first bite, it never happens. If I eat until I am satisfied and wait a while I can have that good feeling many times a day!
  7. Cooking and baking is so much fun! Never a chore.
  8. There is so much beauty to behold everyday, it’s only up to us to enjoy it.
  9. We are the ones who make our schedules. If ever I find myself complaining, I have to remember that I chose this and see that I can chose something different.
  10. Free will and choice is the biggest responsibility and also the biggest blessing.
  11. Eating some animals and loving others makes absolutely no sense.
  12. Loving some people and judging others also makes no sense.
  13. Talking about love and never taking time to love yourself makes no sense.
  14. Love can not be contained behind four walls. It’s all around us all the time.
  15. The best things in life aren’t things.
  16. Buying books and exercise videos doesn’t help at all unless I use them.
  17. Life only works when I give up control. Control of others, my circumstances and myself and just surrender.
  18. I can be called “gorgeous” with make-up and straightened hair, but it means absolutely nothing.
  19. I am not what I weigh.
  20. I love a challenge! Growth and change only occur in the challenging times in life.
  21. There is too much going on in the world that there really is never any time to be selfish.
  22. Everything happens for a reason. Everything and everyone around you is your teacher. Everyone we meet is a reflection of ourselves.
  23. I am the only me there is and it’s OK. We are all different.
  24. Different isn’t bad or wrong, it is just different.
  25. Everywhere I go, there I am. We can’t escape ourselves, so we may as well make peace with and love all of who we are.
  26. If I only do what I know I can do, I never do very much.
  27. Only love is real.
  28. You can’t believe everything you see, hear or read, but it is so easy to.
  29. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Marianne Williamson
  30. It’s scary to be yourself, that’s why so many people are the same and why I always was too.
  31. The more one judges, the less one loves.
  32. Material gain means nothing.
  33. Everyone dies, but not everyone truly lives.
  34. Nothing lasts forever. That includes this moment. Now get off your computer and enjoy this beautiful day!
