For the past few days I have been cleaning this mess pile we call our home.
I do actually clean and organize everyday, but you wouldn’t really be able to tell. It seems impossible to keep the house clean for more than 10 minutes. I feel like I am constantly picking up toys, sweeping floors, wiping tables and doing dishes.
It is definitely true what they say, that “cleaning the house when kids are growing is like shoveling the snow when it’s still snowing.” Still, I actually enjoy cleaning. I like tackling a big job and getting it done. Cleaning makes me feel accomplished and giving my family a nice home is very important to me.
Cleaning also helps me to be mindful and grateful for what I have. When I am picking up scrap papers, folding clothes, putting away toys or making beds, I feel grateful for having my girls and I am reminded to be mindful of the fact that they are only mine for so long and then they will be gone.
I could choose to get all stressed out and uptight about keeping the house all perfectly clean and get depressed when all my hard work seems for nothing, or I can enjoy the moments that are happening and the
messes memories that are being made in our home everyday.
It won’t be like this for long.
The house looks great! I like the before and afters : )
Ah, a clean house, gotta love it, even if only for a few minutes 🙂
The joys of parenting! They really are joys! You’re right! Once in awhile I have to call in a good housekeeping service to make it all right again. I do love it when it’s clean, but I also love it when they’re happy!
I know what you mean about the constant cleaning! I am actually growing to love the act of it, though…it’s become such a part of my life!
