“To see the beauty and the goodness before I see
the flaws and imperfections…
To see the opportunities before I notice the inconveniences…
To see the promises of each day before I notice the challenges…
This is how I want to live.
To notice the good–always the good–before anything
else…and above all else.”
~ Rachel Macy Stafford
The weeks have been busy and my camera card was quite full!
We have been spending a lot of time outside (finally)!!! Serafina could live outside. She is such a nature baby. She could spend hours absorbed in it all. Walking around, talking to the flowers and running barefoot in the grass or up and down our sidewalk.
She also still absolutely LOVES the water. When we went to my parents at the beach last weekend as soon as she saw the lake she got right naked in seconds to run towards the lake and proceeded to dump a bucket of water over her belly. She even loves being in the rain. The past few days we have had a lot of rain, so hopefully we will see some beautiful flowers begin to grow. It seems more like spring is just beginning than it almost being summertime.
Autumn is finishing up her geography block in homeschooling this month so we have been making trips to the library to take out books on our town, province and country. We are having a lot of fun with this, drawing maps and reading about the Native American people who first inhabited Canada, how they lived off the land and what they did to survive, as well as the local history of our area.
Kesa likes to help and learn along too.
All of us girls cut our hair for summer. It feels so nice to have that weight lifted and makes it so much easier to brush.
I also think that it looks rather adorable!
Other things that we have been enjoying around here include; making and eating pancakes, walks by the river, jumping on the trampoline, reading the third Mary Poppins book together (we love these books), playing card games, playing for hours in a box house, lilacs on the table, blanket rides, yoga, bedtime prayers and stories and finally getting our garden tilled. So far we just planted corn. There will be more to plant hopefully this week.
What are the balls that look like they may have apricots in them?

It is a new recipe I came up with the other day. I will have to take down the actual measurements of the ingredients and post it sometime. It was ground raw almonds, oats and medjool dates, peanut butter a tablespoon of syrup and chopped apricots. Autumn and I were being creative and inventing a healthy snack one afternoon. 🙂

What a lovely picture spread… You have lovely girls and a beautiful home. Love your kitchen! I’ve convinced my husband to tear down the top kitchen cabinets. We are in the process of creating a more minimalist home. It’s been a wonderful adventure. Look forward to reading more.

What a lovely start to the spring/summer season! I can almost smell those lovely lilacs. I miss lilacs so much! There are several huge lilac bushes at my parents’ house and we would enjoy them each spring. Hoping to visit home in the spring one of these years to smell them again!
