One More Month

The summer is flying by. I am 35 weeks into this pregnancy now and things are definitely getting bigger and feeling heavier!

I’ve been able to keep up with prenatal yoga, prenatal workouts, swimming, and walking, and am feeling pretty good. Of course, I am at the stage where there are many different emotions surfacing, excitement, anxiety, fear, joy, anticipation, even sadness when I think of how fast it has gone and how I’ll miss feeling the baby move and grow inside of me. I really do want to meet him, but I also want to savor these last few weeks.

Our chubby baby boy!

We decided to go for a 3D ultrasound to confirm the gender because at the other ultrasound I had, they aren’t supposed to say for sure and I wasn’t too convinced that what they showed me might not just be the umbilical cord. By this ultrasound the testes were definitely descended and visible and it was very obvious it was a boy, so now I am relieved and know that I can pick up a few more blue sleepers and only have to worry about boy names. It was also a great experience for Autumn and Kesa to come in with me and get to see their baby brother on screen. I think he looks a lot like Serafina (same cute little monkey nose)!

The last few weeks I have been teaching form drawing to Kesa and geometry to Autumn. Both have been a lot of fun! It is so fun and rewarding to create beautiful images with your hands. My books for teaching geometry haven’t arrived in the mail yet, but for now Autumn and I will look at certain geometrical images and use our minds to really meditate on the images and figure out how to construct them using the compass, protractor, and ruler. It really requires patience and a lot of concentration.

Here are some images we have made so far:

Serafina has been much more into playing these days. She enjoys playing with the fake food and kitchen set with Kesa and when we go to the beach she sometimes doesn’t even go to the water anymore, but chooses to play on the play structure with daddy. Soon she will turn 5 years old (August 14th)!

Beach days have been beautiful and it’s just such a fun thing to do together as a family. Everyone gets enjoyment out of our time spent by the lake.

We started and finished White Fang in one week and now we are reading The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. I really enjoyed White Fang and it didn’t take me long to read it quickly. Craig is reading Huckleberry Finn during the evening while Autumn and I do geometry and Kesa makes something our of modeling clay, or on the Rainbow Loom.

Life is beautiful! I am grateful! 🙂

  1. What a lovely summer you have had thus far! The geometrical images are amazing and it’s nice to see Serafina blossoming so much. I’m impressed with how clear your 3D ultrasound came out. Your son is adorable and it’s nice to see his sweet face. I’ve had one of the BEST summers that I’ve had in a long while….and everything has come together so beautifully that it’s been a blessing to sit back and admire it. I look forward to seeing all the wonderful new things that await you in the months to come. Until the, take care 🙂

  2. Whenever expectant mothers have shown me their ultrasound, I’ve nodded and smiled politely, all the time thinking that they were just imagining their baby amongst all those swirls and blurs. But that 3D ultrasound is so cool! The baby is so obvious and clear! That must have been really exciting for you all!

  3. I’ve been away for way too long my friend, you look beautiful! Pregnancy suits you, I can understand why you have mixed emotions… I’m so glad that your summer is going well. What beautiful art you and the girls have been creating.

Here is to hoping that these last few weeks are filled with joy. Can’t wait to meet the little guy…
