Yummy Fruit!

Today we feasted on fruit.

The girls were begging for watermelon since it was on sale this week. We bought two because I knew that one wouldn’t last long.

Gotta love these watermelon smiles! 🙂

Later on I decided to try making a raspberry banana smoothie with spinach in it for some added protein. Just an idea I had on our walk.

I only had fresh spinach and it didn’t completely mix well, but they still loved it! It was delicious, even though it may not look it.

It was just 1 1/2 frozen bananas, 1 cup frozen raspberries, a large handful of spinach, 1/4 cup almond milk and 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup, blended together in a food processor until smooth.

After Serafina devoured the smoothie, cheerios and a bunch of cookies, it was time for a bath in the sink!

It was a nice break from her usual bath in the tub with me. She did not want to get out. I just had to snap some pictures!

Daddy is working evenings this week, so it is all girls around here. We have been going out for a walk together after supper and enjoying reading the Little House On The Prairie books before bed. So far we are on book #2.  I love these stories and think that they are so good for the girls too.

Lately Serafina is a super cranky pants. The only time she is really happy is when we go out for a walk or if she is eating. She loves to eat! She did enjoy the bath too, but I am finding it hard to get anything done with her crying all the time. It is also a very good opportunity to practice patience. She has one tooth on the bottom now and is working on some more. I am hoping that she will be a happy girl again soon for everybody’s sanity. Can’t believe that she is nine months old already! Crawling and trying to pull herself up to stand!

Our garden is all planted now and looks pretty huge! We’ve got peppers, potatoes, corn, beans, radishes, zucchini, cucumber, lettuce, kale, onion, garlic and maybe some other things. Craig is a crazy gardener.

Now let’s hope something grows! 🙂

  1. Denali (my 9 mth old) is the same lately, I understand your frustration! He is verrry attached to his mama. How does she do at night? Do u do co-sleeping?

    • She is very good at night! We do co-sleep and she nurses on and off in the night, but never fully wakes up so we both get a good night’s sleep. I think she is just teething and cranky because of that. She is also very attached to me, but at least she has her two sisters to entertain her too.

      • Yes very true. I am so grateful to have had my girl first, I use to always want the boy first to be the protector, but she plays that protector part very well for her little brothers. I also co-sleep and wished I would have done it just as long with the 2 older ones, but I know I cant live with regret, I did my best and what I thought was best in the moment, although I am noticing my husband getting frustrated with it a little, any suggestions there. How does your husband do with it?
